Deborah Fleischmann, MSN, FNP-C

Nurse Practitioner

Debbie is a Family Nurse Practitioner, certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (FNP-C). She worked as a Registered nurse with a Bachelor Degree in Nursing for 22 years, before advancing to a FNP-C.  Her work experience as a RN included hospital unit work in pediatrics, labor & delivery, newborn nursery and gynecology.  That was followed by hospital and outpatient clinic management, patient discharge teaching and physicals, and community health and mental health teaching.

In order to achieve more independence, Debbie became a Nurse Practitioner allowing her to obtain health histories, perform physical exams, order and interpret lab and diagnostic studies, diagnose health problems and develop treatment plans as well as continue health education counseling.  She graduated with honors from Oakland University’s Family Nurse Practitioner School with a Masters in Nursing.  One of Debbie’s work experiences while in graduate school, was at Michigan Family Physicians (MFP) with Dr. Colton.  Because the fit with staff and patients was so good, she stayed at MFP after graduation.

Debbie’s combination of clinical experiences provides a strong foundation for the kind of holistic approach that she feels is critical to good care for patients of all ages.  She considers not only the physical aspects to a patient’s illness, but the emotional and mental aspects as well.  She believes that healing is a matter of mind and body.  She treats patients of all ages and especially enjoys female and adolescent health issues.
